I’ve always found B&W to be intriguing and difficult to master. In image making beyond subject and feeling, color provides an additional way to draw the viewer in, someone may like an image for color alone. In black and white it’s composition and or subject that the image lives or dies on. I’ve never heard anyone say “oh, I like that shade of grey”. In black & white abstract art an image must speak by it’s own right. Truly abstract images lack a recognizable subject and are thereby reduced to arts bare bones, composition and ability to evoke emotion.
